Yes, you read that right. I saw a play, performed by the country’s most talented performers only for the price of less than 500 Pesos.
How is that possible, you ask?
See, I availed the Repertory Philippines’ Year Pass and got reserved Orchestra Center seats (the best in the house) to all five (5!!!) plays for the season for only PHP2,400.
For Season 77, they have the following plays lined up:
- Wait Until Dark which starts its run from January 17th.
- August: Osage County which starts its run from February 21st.
- Noises Off which starts its run from March 28th.
- Pinocchio which starts its run from August 16th.
- Scrooge which will run December 2014.
They also have a Silver pass which offers Orchestra Side seats to all five (5) plays (free seating) for the price of PHP1900.
The thing is, Orchestra Center seats can cost up to over a thousand bucks each so this year pass is a steal.
Personally I’ve only been let down once by the Repertory Philippines productions and even then it was still sort of excusable. They’ve consistently been providing amazing shows (take their The Producers last year) at extremely affordable prices for years in an effort to get more people into theater.
