Last Friday, the kaladkarins and I finally had the chance to meet up. I’ve been to three different countries with these guys but I’ve only hung out with them in the Philippines twice. A recently moved into a condo unit in Bonifacio Global City (BGC) and found a couple of activities in the city that seemed interesting.
Flying Trapeze Philippines boasts of being the first and only full size trapeze rig in the Philippines and with the walk-in rate (or open swings, as they’re officially called) going as low as 200PHP, it was too good a deal to pass up.
Flying Trapeze Philippines is on the corner of 34th street and 9th avenue, and their open swing schedules during Fridays are only from 5 to 6PM. Because we all walked from the Sun Life Financial building (5th corner 24th), we almost didn’t make it on time. We also had a hard time looking for the place because none of the guards knew where it was. In retrospect we should have asked directions for Mercato Centrale because the trapeze rig was literally next to the food market.
The instructors were all nice and cheered A, J and F on as they harnessed in. Unfortunately due to womanly problems I wasn’t really feeling up to doing anything particularly strenuous that night. R and I sat this one out and opted to be the cheerleaders-slash-photographers.
It looked fun and my friends say that it was thrilling to take that leap. I’ll try it myself someday, when I’ve mustered enough upper body strength, LOL, because I really want to experience bouncing off that safety net.
After they all caught their breaths and regained their bearings, we hopped over to Mercato Centrale, which thankfully wasn’t that crowded yet. Isaw was the go-to food for the night, although I only had Edgy’s strawberry tea (35PHP) because my damned hormones won’t let me decide if I was hungry or not.
Unfortunately our catching session was cut short because F had another event to go to, which lead to and impromptu evening screening of Crazy Beautiful You. R and I walked all the way to SM Aura because it was a Friday night and what better way to end a stressful week than by watching movie?
Afterwards because my car was parked in Sun Life, R and I took a leisurely night stroll, thus completing the circuit around the whole of BGC. I still haven’t figured out exactly how far I walked that night but I figured I did this campaign slogan proud:
