unravelling the thoughts of an emotional blockhead

last may 6th, at around 5:30 in the moring, the la marea group went to quezon.  there were two vans, (one for the kids and another one for the adults) and three elf trucks for us to put our junk in.  it was a five-hour drive so the teens did absolutely nothing but sleep.

we got there at around 10, give or take half-an-hour.  the grown-ups got cooking, the kiddies hit the beach and i took out my deck of cards, courtesy of philippine airlines.  yes, i travelled all the way to a place called agdangan to play pusoy dos.  might you say ‘addict’?  jigz, christian, ate ains, pat and me were the sole players of the game.

in actuality, there were two reasons why we didn’t want to swim just yet: (a) because of our heat-induced fear of sunburn, and (b) because tito carling’s worker-type peoples were hitting the beach themselves.  yes, it was their company’s annual outing and tito carling decided to hit two birds with one stone.  and that’s the reason why our swimming time got pushed back from 4 to 5:30.  well, that and the sheer addiction to pusoy.

what was so addicting, you ask? well because everytime somebody loses, they were asked . . . certain . . . questions about . . . certain . . aspects of their lives.

mission completed: we actually got the boys to talk.  better yet, we got them to spill their secrets.  go us!!

at around 2 or 3 father john d.c. arrived with his siter.  why, you ask?  well, beacause originally, this was supposed to be an outing of the lay ministers and their families.  yeah, yeah, not much of a difference since it was still us anyways.  but due to some kind of complication, their outing was cancelled but ours still went on.  so yun.  he stayed around for our not-so-good mothers day presentation (not-so-good mainly because of the power outage).

then the power went back on and they threw me a surprise 30 minute debut. harhar. fuun. they made me wish on a candle on a chocolate cake, my parents sang me a beatles song, my father danced with me andso did the other fathers, and the moms threw me wishes all around.  it was very much unique and i truly wouldn’t have had it any other way!

here’re some of the pics from the said debut:
