unravelling the thoughts of an emotional blockhead

i’ve been staying up late for sometime now, watching these tennis matches on some cable channel on t.v. ehe. silly me, i actually thought that it was the wimbledon season already. -_-* i’ve just researched and found out that, actually, it was the french open and the match that i saw last night was, indeed, the championship match.  harhar. and the sole reason i’ve been waching said matches was the champion.

congratulations rafael nadal!!! may you have many, many more winnings to come! you can get the wimbledon, don’t worry!!

harhar. can you see?  can you see??  the only reason the tennis match caught my attention was his pants! yes, people, his PANTS!   never in my life have i seen anyone in a professional tennis match wear capri pants!  gah!  and he’s only 19 too… i know that he doesn’t look quite that cute, but shit, you should see him play.

Nadal wins French Open crown

June 05, 2005 22:52 IST

Rafael Nadal beat unseeded Argentine Mariano Puerta 6-7, 6-3, 6-1, 7-5 in a rousing French Open final on Sunday.
The 19-year-old Spaniard recovered from losing a lung-busting opening set, rattled through the next two and then held off a brave Puerta fightback to claim his first grand slam title.

In doing so he also became the first debutant since Swede Mats Wilander in 1982 to win the men’s singles at Roland Garros.

Puerta, who this time last year was still serving a doping ban, played inspired tennis early on and looked capable of emulating countryman Gaston Gaudio’s triumph here 12 months ago.

But Nadal would not be denied.

Soaking up everything Puerta could muster, he eventually ground the gallant Argentine into the dust, saving three set points in a gripping fourth set before Puerta sent a forehand wide on Nadal’s first match point after three hours 24 minutes.
