unravelling the thoughts of an emotional blockhead

2010 was a good year.  It started out well and it ended up better.

Early 2010 I set up a list of goals that I should accomplish by the year’s end.  Now, for a quick performance review:

1. To be more “open”.  I think I accomplished this to some extent, although not fully.  I guess I’ll have to keep this on the 2011 list still.

2. Try to blog more. Seeing as I only have three entries for the whole year, I’d say that this was a spectacular failure.  I’ll keep this on the list and we’ll see for 2011.

3. Take the shift stick car out to work.  I’m afraid I haven’t done this one as well but I’d like to point out that this one’s only partially my fault.  The stick shift’s had problems for the better part of six months and both my brother and my father would not even let me take it out of the village.

4. Read a minimum of 12 books.  Gosh now that I look at it, I think I’ve only read around ten books this year; I focused more on re-reading the Harry Potter series again that I wasn’t able to put much of a dent on my reading backlog.

5. Try to watch more movies.  This was a spectacular success, if I do say so myself.  I’ve just finished sorting out the movie tickets I’ve kept for 2010 and I think I’ve only had a minimum of three movies per month, which was fantastic.  I will definitely be keeping this one up for 2011 as well.

6. Save more money.  Technically I’ve only saved a little amount more than what I had when 2010 ended, but seeing as I try to pay for my own gas and I got braces 2010, I think I’m doing good.  My goal for 2011 is to double what I have now, at least.

7. Lose weight.  Since I did get braces, some weight did come off, albeit not deliberately.  Right now I’m not striving for weight loss but for a healthier status in life.  I’m only 23 years old and I’m not supposed to be like this, I don’t think.

8. Take the NCLEX.  Which I did and passed.  At last, I can scratch this one off the list.

9. Write more.  Again, writing took a backseat 2010 because of all the changes that’s happened at work.  This’ll stay on the list.

10. Watch more plays.  Like the movies pledge, this was a success.  I was able to see all the plays that the Repertory of the Philippines ran for the season and a few more.  I can’t wait for 2011’s run.

11. Try to “connect” with the spiritual side”.  I did, I think.  There was a struggle somewhere in the middle but I think I’m back on the game.  Nothing’s being taken too seriously at this point but I am still striving to balance everything out.

12. Start out some kind of business.  Now in retrospect this was a reach for 2010.  With the small amount of maturity I’ve gained from 2010, I know that I’m not yet prepared for this, but I will be someday.

In short, 2010 was a eventful and good but I feel that 2011 will even be better.  Bring it.
